For contractors and home services

Your crew posts the job. You hold the licence.

Storm-chasing offers, “we’ll cover your deductible”, a finished roof posted without the licence number — those are advertisements against your licence, not your crew’s. We read every piece before it goes out.

What this rule set holds

16 phrases, and the licence line your state requires.

A small rule set, because the trade has few prohibited phrases and one large trap: insurance-adjacent offers. Most of what the gate does here is make sure the identifiers are present.

What it catches

  • Deductible offers and insurance-adjacent inducements, which draw complaints fastest
  • Guarantees on work or outcome stated without qualification
  • Missing licence number where the state requires one on advertising
  • Figures about savings or timelines with no source behind them

Why it matters per piece

The licence is in your name. Whoever typed the post, the complaint arrives at the licensed contractor. A dated record of what was screened is the difference between a conversation and a problem.

A screening tool, not legal advice. Your compliance officer or counsel has the last word.

Send me one of your posts and I will tell you what I see.

No pitch deck and no obligation — a real read of one live piece, back to you within a working day. If there is nothing wrong with it, I will tell you that too.

Goes straight to Christian. We never sell your details and there is no list to leave.
