This Privacy Policy explains how Dane Digital (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses and protects information you give us through this website, by phone, by email and by text message. It applies to everyone who uses this website or contacts us.
We do not sell your information. The details you give us — your name, email, phone number and anything you write in a form or message — are not sold, and are not shared with third parties for their own marketing. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party.
Information we collect
- Information you give us: your name, email address, phone number, business or website address, what you are interested in, and anything you write in a message or form.
- Your communication choices: whether you agreed to be contacted by text message, the wording of the consent shown to you at the time, and when you gave it.
- Basic technical information: like any website, our hosting provider may log standard information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, to keep the site secure and working.
How we use your information
- To answer your enquiry and provide the services you asked about.
- To contact you by phone, email or text message where you have agreed to that contact.
- To keep records we are required to keep, including records of marketing consent.
How information is shared
We use service providers to run our business — for example website hosting, our customer relationship management (CRM) system and email or messaging providers. They may process your information only in order to provide those services to us. We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.
Analytics and advertising tools
This website uses two third-party tools that set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser:
- Google Analytics 4 — tells us how many people visit, which pages they read and how they arrived. We use it to understand what is useful and what is not.
- The Meta pixel — lets us show ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who have visited this site, and tells us whether an ad led to an enquiry.
These tools collect technical and behavioural information — pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser — and that information goes to Google and to Meta, who act as providers of those services. They do not receive your name, email address or phone number from this website, and nothing you type into a form is passed to them.
You can stop them. Use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, turn off ad personalisation in your Facebook ad settings, or block cookies in your browser — the site works normally either way.
Text messaging (SMS) terms
Full details are on our SMS Terms page. In summary: we send text messages only to people who have asked us to. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving them, or HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply and message frequency may vary.
Your choices
- Reply STOP to any text message to opt out of text messages.
- Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.
- Email us to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it.
- Opt out of the analytics and advertising tools described above, or block cookies in your browser.
How we protect and keep information
We keep information only as long as we need it for the purpose it was given, or as long as the law requires. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect it. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Our Canva app
We publish a Canva app called Compliance Check. When you press its button, the text on the page you are looking at is sent to our checker, scanned against the advertising rules for the industry you chose, and the result is sent back to you.
We do not keep that text. It is scanned and discarded. We do not store it, we do not log it, and we do not add it to any record. The app needs no account and asks for no sign-in, so we do not know who you are and cannot connect what you checked to a person.
The app reads only the page you are on, and only its text. It cannot see your other designs, your Canva account, your files or your images.
To stop one visitor using the free checker as an unlimited service, our server counts requests per internet address for the current day. That count is held in memory, is not written to any database, and is not used to identify or contact anyone.

Our Chrome extension
We publish a Chrome extension called Compliance Check. You select some copy on any page, right-click, and choose “Check this copy for compliance”. Only the text you selected is sent to our checker, scanned against the advertising rules for the industry you chose, and the result is sent back to you.
The extension cannot read the pages you visit. It asks for no access to website content and installs no code into any page, so it has no way to see what is on screen, what you type, or where you browse. The only text it ever receives is text you have selected and right-clicked yourself. The only website it is permitted to contact is our own checker at hub.danedigital.org.
We do not keep the text you check. It is scanned and discarded. We do not store it, we do not log it, and we do not add it to any record. The extension needs no account and asks for no sign-in.
Your email address is optional. The first three checks ask for nothing. After that, the extension asks for an email address before it will check more copy, and you may also enter one at any time. If you give one, it is stored in your own browser and sent to our checker with each check so that two things can happen: we can lift the daily limit for an address that has a paid plan with us, and we can add the address to our customer records with a note of which industry’s rules you were checking against, so that any follow-up from us is about your regulator rather than marketing in general. We do not attach the text you checked to that record. Remove the email from the extension’s panel and it stops being sent.
“Send to your compliance officer” opens a draft in your own email program containing the copy and the findings. Nothing is sent to us, and nothing is sent to anyone until you press send yourself.
Stored in your own browser, and nowhere else: the industry you picked, how many checks you have run, and the most recent result so the panel can show it again. All of it is removed when you uninstall the extension.
As with the free checker, our server counts requests per internet address for the current day so that one visitor cannot use it as an unlimited service. That count is held in memory, is not written to any database, and is not used to identify or contact anyone.

Children
This website and our services are intended for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the effective date at the top of this page.
